Paranormal Activity 2 trailer: An Easter Egg to Freak You Out...
Something a little exciting for all you horror fans, particularly ones interested in the up-coming October sequel - "Paranormal Activity 2". Directed by Tod Williams, and with Katie Featherston returning to reprise her role from the first film; it currently has a US and UK release date of Friday October 22nd 2010...
When the first trailer was released, the internet was awash with the little details that people had managed to spot. From hearing a mysterious voice whisper something like "Who is Hunter"; to the baby in the clip being only present in the mirror and not in the cot - people were soon discussing what the plotline could be. Monday 13th September saw an updated trailer posted on the official Paranormal Activity 2 website. With a special Easter Egg that fans can access only on the official site trailer, and not on any embed trailer - it's definately a bit more to wet the appetite before it's release. Below I give you a detailed description of what happens, how to find it and possible explanations. If you don't want **SPOILERS** - head straight to the site and try to find it yourself...
Right, for those still here. About halfway through the trailer, around the point where you see the dog lying on the floor, you need to pause the trailer. Then move the the playhead a little back and forth for a few seconds. Once the Easter Egg catches you will not be able to pause the screen, so keep your eyes on it. After it's caught it appears to take you to a different selection of frames - still shots, photos, blurry writing and camera interference. Once that section is over, the trailer resumes and you are then able to pause it again. Watch to the very end to see the camera zoom in to the mirror with the baby's reflection in - and some rather eerie noises. Here's a full play-by-play of the trailer in pictures...
So as you can see, pretty intense. I have a few possible thoughts that I shall share. It's possible that if Katie was stalked or possessed by the demon since childhood, that the demon has always been active. I don't know who the child is yet (it would be too simple to be Katie and Micah's I feel), but it appears as if it is part of some ceremony. It could be that Katie is performing a ceremony to "protect" the child; but if she has the demon in her already, then it could be the demon itself putting a spirit or something in the child. The girl 'dancing' could be part of the ritual. The baby then being present in only the mirror and not in the cot could then be a result of the ritual.
This is simply me putting some guesses to the evidence - but either way, I am WAY more excited for this film than I was before. What do you all think..? Will it be worth a watch, or will you give it a miss? Flix Out.
***I found out about the trailer from here - and took all the screenshots myself.***

After some writing saying - In 2009 You Demanded It - it shows the bedroom with the dog on the floor, and the baby in cot...
Pans shake, sound effects start and this image pops up of a woman possibly outside 'dancing'. Note the time...
Next is a still of the baby appearing to be daubed on the forehead with some sort of green paint or potion by Katie...
..but they are altered, as in this one where the child has blacked out eyes like Katie in the first when possessed...
..which is then followed by the freaky still from earlier in the trailer with the girl 'dancing'. You can see the child at her feet...
It then goes back to the trailer and you can pause again. It returns to the room with the dog and the baby...
After flickery again and some eerie sound effects (including heavy footsteps) you see Katie at the door. Note the time again...
After the trailer has 'finished' the screen goes back to this and zooms on the baby in the mirror, but not in the cot...
